Technology is regularly portrayed and perceived as a threat to children’s – and particularly teenagers’ – wellbeing. Overuse of mobile devices, dangerous images flowing through games and social media, or addiction issues are in fact prominent problems among the youngest tech users.
However, while the negative aspects are not to be overlooked, there are still more and more ways in which digital tools support the new generations and their parents. As the digital transformation happening before our eyes is inevitable anyway, it is worth to promote its positive manifestations.
Erasing technology from the kids’ lives does not make sense, but ensuring they encounter its best forms should be our mission. The advancement in tech should enhance the quality of life of the society as a whole – including its youngest part.
GenAI (Generative Artificial Intelligence) is a recurring element of the debate. Will it stifle the creativity and imagination, so important in the way children discover the world?
It does not have to.
Of course, it is important to note that the parent or caretaker should monitor how the technology is being used by the child for the child’s benefit. Playing with AI tools together is always safer than leaving the kids alone with the unknown.
As AI solutions are growing in their applicability, technology-driven parenting tools spring. They constitute evidence that AI can actually support parents and caretakers in fuelling their own creativity and imagination, which translates into curiosity and entertainment of their little ones.
All the arguments would be in vain if not for a decent example. Meet Toddi
Toddi is one, newly launched instance of how AI can be utilized for a value-driven entertainment for children and their families.
Toddi is, what the founders describe as “child development companion”. It allows you to instantly turn the topics you want your child to learn about and become aware of into personalized stories.
One of the most innovative features of Toddi is the MagicWrite. The tool invites the parents and children to cooperate on building stories that not only cover the desired themes but also feature their favourite characters, often resembling their own selves.
The app provides access to colourful, fun, and educational contents that support kids' cognitive growth and emotional development journey. The algorithm is carefully crafted with assistance of expert psychologists, which makes the platform more trustworthy and reliable – especially in times of technology-derived threats.
English version of the app is available worldwide, adding the extra opportunity to stay in-touch with a language that most of the children nowadays learn.
Check for yourself or download Toddi from the App Store.

So, AI can be a kid’s friend, not only a dark fiend
