With AI spanning all sectors of work globally now, what becomes key is AI-integrated education. Even when institutions brand themselves as AI-ready, the grassroots educators are still reluctant to implement AI in teaching and accept that it has become an integral part of the learning process. How do we know that?
EDUAI: Empowering Educators for AI-Integrated Learning
Seven international partners, a moment of recognition, and a transformative action. This is what EDUAI is about. A project inspired by educators and third-sector workers, who observed the shortages in implementing AI in real-life teaching and learning in higher education and beyond.
“In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, the integration of AI in education is not just a possibility—it’s a necessity. Our initiative is dedicated to transforming education by equipping educators with the tools and knowledge they need to leverage AI effectively.”
Among the entrepreneurial skills is the sense of initiative and ability to translate it into action. Entrepreneurship manifests itself in many forms, one of which is EU-funded projects. This is how EDUAI came to life – through initiative to apply through Erasmus+ programme, and particularly its Key Action 2 fund’s part devoted to the development of Higher Education.
But… who is behind EDUAI in practice?
The consortium of partners who designed the project is coordinated by Istanbul University and includes companies, institutions, and organizations from Poland, Portugal, UK, Türkiye, and Greece. On board EDUAI there are:
AidLearn Research-Action, and Consulting Company
European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB)
International Association of Social Science Programs Evaluation and Accrediting (USDAD)
European Teachers Academy & Krakowskie Forum Edukacji
Metropolitan College
University of Aveiro
And what is EDUAI in practice?
EDUAI focuses on action towards two specific objectives – advancing education with AI and advancing the ability to integrate AI in education in practice. Thus, it aims to generate results that would support these goals.
As the project is divided into stages that build upon each other, in the initial steps, comprehensive research among higher education actors was conducted. Based on this research, the consortium developed an “AI Integrated Learning Framework”. The framework is based on a deep analysis of needs and opportunities of not only educators, but also administrators, and students themselves, when it comes to AI utility, impact, and opportunities in learning and teaching.
Alongside the produced research and theories, there come more practical applications of the commonly developed knowledge, which include:
Multimedia Innovator Showcase
A platform showcasing innovative applications of AI in education, featuring case studies and best practices.AI-Integrated Learning Blended Course and Platform
A specialized course aimed at equipping educators with the necessary skills and knowledge to integrate AI into their classrooms effectively is developed together with AI Learning Platform, accessible in 5 different languages.Co-Creator Lab Guide
A guide designed to facilitate collaborative (teacher-student) creation of AI-powered learning experiences, fostering innovation in educational practices.
The project consortium is currently at the halfway point of producing the results. “The theoretical part started its transformation and transition into practical action, and we are more than excited to share this action with you”, says Stefan Hulicki, one of the project coordinators.
“Whether you are an administrator seeking evidence of impact, an educator eager to explore new AI tools, or a policymaker evaluating scalable professional development models, these results offer actionable guidance and proven approaches for bringing AI into everyday learning”.
Why the buzz?
What makes us particularly interested and excited about EDUAI is that all the resources produced by the initiative are accessible and can be applied in diverse contexts. The project, through its value for educators, contributes to the development of students’ opportunities. Also, the language-inclusive approach and the focus on AI’s positive impact speak to ExpertHub loudly.
The project demonstrates that a global AI integration should be implemented just like strategies within the public health model – all society members on board. And its inevitability can be less overwhelming thanks to such initiatives. Initiatives with real people behind them!

EDUAI’s progress is worth following by anyone who wants to learn about integration of AI across the educational sectors.
